Our Motto:
"It doesn't matter how slow I move forward, as long as we don't stop"
Ferdinand Effah Music Heritage Foundation is a registered non-profit organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria (Reg. Number: 174145), dedicated to supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through music-focused therapy.
The foundation was established based on the experiences of Master Ferdinand Effah, who was diagnosed with ASD early in life. Following limited progress with traditional approaches, involvement with music became a significant aspect of his development, leading to an increased interest in listening and eventually playing music.
Encouraging music as both a therapeutic activity and a potential career path aimed to facilitate active participation beyond passive listening, and allowed for public performance, providing opportunities for skill development such as patience, resilience, commitment, and perseverance.
With music introduced as a central therapeutic approach, Ferdinand gradually developed a stable interest in playing, which contributed positively to his ongoing therapy for ASD. The foundation’s work highlights developments in his engagement with music and notes observable progress that may also apply to others with similar needs.
Currently, the Foundation has expanded its vocational programs for autistic children beyond music, adopting a multisectoral model supported by initiatives such as Ferdy’s Band, Ferdy’s Fashion House, Ferdy’s Marathon and Sporting Centre, and Autism Voice Television.
Join us paved the way for the success stories of more Autistic children in Nigeria …
