Ferdy’s Marathon and Sporting Centre is our proposed training arena in Nigeria that would support skills development in sports for people with autism. As part of the Ferdinand Effah Music Heritage Foundation (FEMHF)—alongside Ferdy’s Band, Ferdy’s Fashion House, and Autism Voice Tv—it would promote autism awareness and acceptance through activities like marathons, sprints, golf, and swimming. The Centre intends to showcase the abilities of autistic individuals, helping society see their strengths beyond stereotypes and fostering inclusion through sport. Ferdinand Effah’s story reflects the power and potential of autistic athletes in this regard.
What do we intend to do?
- We intend to train and develop athletic skills for individuals with autism, helping them become top athletes and potential medalists in major competitions.
- We intend to raise autism awareness and acceptance through marathons and sporting events.
Our intended core activities:
- Building skills in marathon and other sports for autistic children.
- Organizing and promoting autism-focused marathons and sports events.
- Creating opportunities for autistic individuals to participate and compete in sports.
- Offering training platforms for skill development across all categories of sports for autistic children.
- Hosting seasonal events that showcases achievements and medals won by autistic athletes (celebrating both professionals and non-professionals), and supporting the autism community in Nigeria.
